You're an Overcomer

Wow, so yeah... I guess we've all fallen off the wagon more times than we'd care to count, but this time, I feel like I was sucker punched and drop kicked right off that wagon and straight into a ditch. It's been a little rough lately! BUT, I'm here to tell you that I scraped, clawed, and drug my tired butt out of the ditch!

Yesterday was my first withdrawal symptom free day since tapering, and inadvertently cold turkey quitting, my anti-depressant pills about 10 days ago! Hallelujah! PTL! I've also only run once in about 3 weeks, which is CRAY! This sports hernia business has been lingering around much longer than I thought/hoped it would. For real, it sucks! I'm just in such a better mood (even though I bitch and moan about the heat) when I run. Or maybe this has all been my master plan all along, get the hubs to the point that he's begging me to go run and is more than happy to let me splurge on some new kicks if it makes me more pleasant to be around ;) seriously though, I am totes getting some new shoes today (second pair ever of REAL running shoes)! Pretty pumped to get back at it and go H.A.M. on all my runs between now and my half next month, but I've gotta be real honest, I don't know how attainable my sub 2 goal is at this point :( I'm thinking I should adjust my time goal to something more realistic, like 2:10, but we'll see how everything plays out in the next couple weeks. In the mean time, I keep these lyrics from Mandissa in constant rotation in my head...

Got so much on your mind
Nothing's really going right
Looking for a ray of hope

Whatever it is you may be going through
I know He's not gonna let it get the best of you

You're an overcomer
Stay in the fight ‘til the final round
You're not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it's hopeless
That's when He reminds You
That you're an overcomer

You're an overcomer

Everybody's been down
Hit the bottom, hit the ground
Oh, you're not alone
Just take a breath, don't forget
Hang on to His promises
He wants You to know

The same Man, the Great I am
The one who overcame death
Is living inside of You
So just hold tight, fix your eyes
On the one who holds your life
There's nothing He can't do
He's telling You

YOU'RE AN OVERCOMER!
